FarmVille Sneak Peek: Lucky Rainbow coming for St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day has always been a time for item collection and prize redemption in FarmVille, and this year looks to be no different, as FarmVilleFreak has discovered the first details pertaining to an upcoming Lucky Rainbow item collection feature that will launch fairly soon in the game. The Lucky Rainbow looks to resemble the Cupid's Garden feature, in that we'll need to collect three different kinds of items that can be used in bulk to earn special, exclusive decorations or animals.

We'll collect Shamrocks, Horseshoes and Moons, which can each be used to earn at least two items each (for six known items as of right now). We'll earn Shamrock Trees, Fighting Irish Ducks, Parrots, Street Lamps, a Rainbow Body Mustang and even a Rainbow Clover Bridge.

There's always the possibility that additional prizes will be released in this feature, or that the items themselves could change before things are released in full, and we'll make sure to let you know the full details of the Lucky Rainbow event as we learn more. Keep checking back with us!

FarmVille: Expand your Farmers Markets to store more Bushels

For months, farmers have been begging Zynga to release additional Bushel storage in FarmVille. Now, it looks like the Big Z has finally listened, as Farmers Market expansions have now launched in the game! You'll need to expand each Farmers Market separately, collecting 30 building ingredients to start.

  • 10 Price Cards
  • 10 Baskets
  • 10 Awnings

You'll earn these items either by asking your friends to send them to you, or by purchasing them outright with Farm Cash. When you expand your Farmers Market the first time, you'll receive 25 additional storage slots for Bushels. However, since you can own more than one Farmers Market, you can keep on expanding to receive more and more storage slots for Bushels. And don't forget about the stalls you may have on your other farms!

All in all, this is an incredibly appreciated addition to the game, but we'll make sure to let you know if another Bushel limit is eventually introduced in the game. For now, start collecting these building ingredients and expand your bushel storage as much as you can!

FarmVille Money Bush: Earn 208 Farm Cash in a year

Back in January, Zynga released the Money Tree in FarmVille, giving you a chance to earn double your investment of Farm Cash (260 Farm Cash) in a year's time. Now, a Money Bush has been released, offering a similar deal, but for less Farm Cash overall. The Money Bush costs 100 Farm Cash to purchase, and will allow you to collect 4 Farm Cash per week, each week, for a full year.

You'll earn 208 Farm Cash overall through this, which is actually more than double of your initial investment, if you're willing to wait around the full year to claim it all. As with the Money Tree, your individual year may expire at a different time from a friend who also purchased the Money Bush, but you'll still earn your full year of Farm Cash overall.

You'll only have six days to purchase this Money Bush, and you'll gain 10,000 XP along with your purchase. Make sure to take a look at this one in the store before it expires, if you're at all interested. It's likely we won't see this one again, so make sure to shop now!

FarmVille Horse Studio: Design your own horse for Farm Cash

A few weeks ago, FarmVille players were treated to a survey that asked for our opinions on a "Create Your Own Horse" feature. Apparently, the responses were generally positive, as we've seen just that launch within the game: a Horse Studio, allowing you to create your own horse from scratch... all for Farm Cash.

The Horse Studio is still currently rolling out to farmers, but once you receive it, you'll be given a blank horse template costing anywhere from 20-25 Farm Cash as-is (the final price is still unknown, as Zynga works on "Price Testing" the feature). Each time you add a new feature to the horse (say, wings or a tail), the Farm Cash price will go up. You can change the color of these items, and can add sparkles or other effects around the horse to make it more unique. Ultimately, you can toy around with your created horse as much as you'd like, and can then purchase it to place on your farm for the final Farm Cash price based on your design. That is, if you create a horse with 50 Farm Cash worth of decorations or "upgrades," you'll need to pay that much Farm Cash to actually own the horse.

Unfortunately, since there are thousands of combinations available for features here, the created horses can't be bred into matching foals, and players on the FarmVille forums are reporting that these animals can't be placed into Paddocks or the Horse Stable either. While the horse can be harvested, you won't earn mastery points, making this more of a glorified farm decoration than an actual horse. Still, if you've always wanted Zynga to release a horse with specific features or colors, you can skip waiting and simply create one yourself.

FarmVille Bunny Hutch guide

FarmVille is slowly releasing the new Bunny Hutch to players on Tuesday afternoon.
Remember, a slow release in the game means a feature is released to a few players at a time to ensure it is working properly. If you don’t have it just yet, please be patient!
When the Bunny Hutch is available to you, you will be notified via a popup message on your farm. You can place the Bunny Hutch on any farm space you’d like, and you can have one on each farm. The building will take up approximately four plots of space to place.
Note that any previously-released bunnies/rabbits you’ve already got on your farm will not go into this building – it is made solely for the new pastel baby bunnies available in the FarmVille Market (or ones you collect from friends).
Once you have placed your Bunny Hutch, you’ll need to collect several parts for it. As with most constructable buildings in FarmVille, there are several levels you can build, each allowing you to hold more bunnies.

For the first level (which will allow you to place bunnies inside), you will need to collect ten each of the following items:
  • Baby Carrot Bunch
  • Wood Block
  • Hutch Wire
These building materials are available as free gifts from friends, you can find them on your Facebook game feeds, or you can purchase them for Farm Cash if you choose.
If you plan on continuing your construction, don’t stock up on parts from the first build – you’ll need al new parts to continue on. After the first level, you’ll be collecting Bunny Tunnels, Bunny Beds and Branch Balls.
Once you have completed the first level of construction, the fun begins! You’ll be awarded with one baby bunny, and you will be able to share one with friends on your game feed.
You can place baby bunnies inside and collect from it once a day. Your baby bunnies will be laying special eggs that you can share with your friends, and there are lucky golden eggs that give “special” prizes.

FarmVille Sneak Peek: Pro Packs offer Unwithers, Turbo Chargers and more

It looks like FarmVille players will soon be rewarded with a slew of free goodies, if information found by FarmVilleFreak is anything to go by. Apparently, something called the FarmVIlle "Pro Pack" will soon launch in the game, giving us a chance to receive Farm Cash, Unwithers, Instant Grows, Turbo Chargers or even farm vehicles (or perhaps just Vehicle Parts).

Will these packs really be free? It looks like they might be, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some sort of catch along the way. Perhaps we'll need to complete a series of goals before receiving a Pro Pack. Or, maybe we'll need to purchase an item with Farm Cash, only to receive the Pro Pack as a free gift-with-purchase. Or, maybe they'll simply be items that only friends can send to each other, limiting the amount each person can receive based on how many active neighbors they have.

Either way, there are way more unknowns associated with the Pro Packs than concrete facts, but we'll make sure to stay on top of things, and will let you know just as soon as the Pro Packs launch, along with how to get your hands on one (or more). Keep checking back with us!

FarmVille: Get 20 Farm Cash and 10 Facebook Credits for just $1

Well, you can if you're lucky. While not all farmers have been given access to this new offer in FarmVille, FVNation is reporting that some players can now purchase 10 Facebook Credits for $1 US, only to receive 20 Farm Cash for free just by doing so. To see if you're eligible for this offer, click on "Get Farm Cash" on top of the FarmVille gameplay area. Then click on the large green "View Special Offers" button as you scroll down the page.

If you have this offer available to you, you'll need to scroll through the list of offers (that would normally require you to sign up for some kind of service in exchange for free Farm Cash) until you see the 20 free Farm Cash offer. Again, not all players have this offer available to them, as of this writing, but it's worth the few seconds to check out if you're one of the lucky few, right? 20 Farm Cash plus 10 Facebook Credits (which could be used for more Farm Cash or in any other Facebook game) all for $1? Talk about a bargain!

FarmVille Baby Animal Playpen guide

FarmVille released the Baby Animal Playpen to players on Tuesday afternoon. The feature is currently on a slow release, so if you don’t see it on your farm just yet, please be patient - you will have it soon.
The Baby Animal Playpen is a new storage building for your baby animals. You can place calves, foals, and several other baby animals inside of it once constructed. This building will not grow your babies up; it is simply a storage building for them. You can collect from it daily for Farm Coins, and you also have a chance of producing a baby from it that you can share with friends. The baby will be one of the animals you’ve already got inside.
When the building is fully upgraded, you can place up to 40 baby animals inside of it.
Once the feature is available to you, you will immediately go into placement mode on your farm. The Baby Animal Playpen takes up the same amount of room as other animal pens such as the Pet Run.

As with any constructable building, you’re going to need to collect some parts for it. For the first level, you will need to gather 10 Baby Blanket, 10 Salt Licks and 10 Brushes from friends. You can get these parts as free gifts, you can find them on your Facebook game feed, or you can purchase them with Farm Cash. At this time, Special Delivery Boxes are not giving out these parts.
With the release of this new building, we’ve also noticed the Nursery Barn is no longer available to purchase. If you’ve still got one on your farm and want to keep it, you’ll be able to, but you can no longer build any new ones.
One player in the Zynga Community Forums pointed out that this could be a profitable building if you place the right animals in it – filling it with Winged Unicorns Foals and Harvest Foals will net you 125K a day in Farm Coins. Remember, Baby Animals can now be mastered, so this is a good opportunity to get things rolling for those coveted signs.

FarmVille Tunnel of Love: Everything you need to know

Helping to bring the feelings of love and romance to FarmVille is the new Tunnel of Love, a feature that will have you helping three animal couples on your farm through the Tunnel of Love. The first is the Giraffe Couple, while the Peacock and Bear Couples follow after.

To be specific, you'll have three days to finish with the Giraffe Couple, which requires you to have five friends help out along the way. You'll be able to send out individual requests to your neighbors to have them help you out, or you can just purchase the help with Farm Cash. You'll receive a Giraffe baby for helping them out. The same can be said for the other two couples: you'll need to ask more and more friends for help, and will receive a Peacock baby and a Bear baby when you've helped those final two couples.

This feature is incredibly similar to the Penguin feature back during the Christmas event, so if you participated then, you'll be able to get through this just fine. Good luck earning all of the animals in time!

FarmVille Fortune Wheel: Spin the wheel for discounts or free items

Are you feeling lucky? A new Fortune Wheel feature in FarmVille will give you a chance to test that luck through a slot machine mechanic. When you login to the game, you'll see the Fortune Machine on the right side of your gameplay area, and can click on it to see how many free spins you've received.

Just hit the big green Spin button and you'll see the wheels begin to turn. The items can be anything from animals and trees to experience point boosts and more, but that's not the important part here. The thing to look out for is the fourth screen at the far side of the wheel. This one rotates through various Farm Cash discount percentages (including a "Free" marker). Whatever it lands on when you spin the wheel will be the discount you'll receive on the three prizes that are up for grabs on each spin. For instance, you may spin the wheel to receive a Camel, Chrome Cherry Tree and Experience Point boost at a 25% off discount - all three items would then cost 34 Farm Cash, instead of their normal combined price of 45 Farm Cash.

If you like this discount, you'll need to take advantage of it immediately, as spinning the wheel another time will eliminate the three prizes (unless they happen to spin around again at random), and could change the discount percentage.

While you can feel free to stop playing with the Fortune Wheel entirely after you've run out of free spins, you can also use coins - yes, coins - to keep spinning the wheel after that. A single spin looks to cost 15,000 coins, as of this writing (coins are spent as soon as you click the Buy button, so make sure you really want another spin before clicking). It also looks like you'll only have a single chance at playing on the Fortune Wheel, as refreshing the game causes it to disappear. This could end up being a weekly event, or even a daily one, but for now, you'll just need to keep an eye out on the right side of your farm to see when (if ever) the Fortune Wheel will come back around. Good luck winning some great items!

FarmVille Anti-Cupid quests guide

FarmVille released 9 new Finding Love/Anti-Cupid quests for players on Thursday afternoon.
These quests are running alongside the current Winter Wonderland Chapter 6 quests, and the Ugly Duckling quests (if you have not yet finished them up). Players will have 14 days to complete these new tasks, and they can be performed on any farm space you choose.

There are some decent animals up for grabs in these rewards, but we’re seeing Farmhands and Arborists again, which is frustrating for many players who simply don’t need them. We’re a fan of these quests just for the new animals, which we're betting you'll be trying to get as well.
Quest 1: Love Is In the Air
Your first quest will ask you to get 4 Black Rose Bouquets from friends, harvest a Cow Pasture once and harvest 50 Flower crops. Your rewards will be 125XP, 2,500 Farm Coins and 1 Cupid’s Stinky Pig.
Quest 2: Sours for the Sweet
Your next quest will ask you to get 6 Boxes of Sour Candy from friends, harvest the Cupid’s Stinky Pig once and harvest 75 Aloe Vera crops. Your rewards will be 150XP, 3,000 Farm Coins and 1 Puckered Porcupine.

Quest 3: Anti-Anti
Your next quest will ask you to get 8 Anti-Valentine Cards from friends, harvest the Puckered Porcupine once, and harvest 100 Corn crops. Your rewards will be 175XP, 3,500 Farm Coins and 3 Farmhands.

Your next quest will ask you to get 8 Party Invitations from friends, harvest the Cupid’s Stinky Pig twice, and harvest 125 Jalapeno crops. Your rewards will be 200XP, 4,000 Farm Coins and 1 Anti-Love Giraffe.
Quest 5: Cupid Cakes
Your next quest will ask you to get 8 Cupid Party Cakes from friends, harvest the Anti-Love Giraffe once and harvest 125 Pineapples. Your rewards will be 225XP, 4,500 Farm Coins and 1 Black Heart Gnome.
Quest 6: Decorated for Detriment
Your next quest will ask you to get 8 Cupid Party Decorations from friends, harvest the Puckered Porcupine twice and harvest 150 Fruit crops. Your rewards will be 250XP, 5,000 Farm Coins and 3 Arborists.

Quest 7: Like Fish In a Barrel
Your next quest will ask you to get 9 Party Games from friends, harvest the Anti-Love Giraffe twice and harvest 150 Cranberry crops. Your rewards will be 275XP, 5,500 Farm Coins and 1 Anti Cupid.
Quest 8: Like Arrows
Your next quest will ask you to get 10 Like Arrows from friends, master Cupid’s Stinky Pig to level 1, and harvest 150 Red Tulips. Your rewards will be 300XP, 6,000 Farm Coins and 1 Turbo Charger.
Quest 9: Cupid Love
Your final quest will ask you to get 12 Cupid Candies from friends, master the Puckered Porcupine to level 1, and harvest 200 Soybean crops.  Your rewards will be 325XP, 6,500 Farm Coins and 1 Mr. and Mrs. Cupid.

FarmVille Animal Mastery Billboard: Everything you need to know

When the Crop Mastery Billboard launched in FarmVille in January, we speculated that it would only be a matter of time before we saw similar signs released for Animal or even Tree mastery signs. It turns out, we were right, at least partially. A new Animal Mastery Billboard has launched in the game this afternoon, giving players a chance to store their animal mastery signs, taking up less space on your farms, but retaining the ability to show them off.

The Animal Mastery Billboard requires 24 parts to start: eight each of Dark Plywood, Green Lights and Orange Overalls. Don't get these confused with the items requires for the Crop Mastery Billboard, as they are different. That is, the Crop billboard required Light Plywood, instead of Dark.

Of course, you can collect these materials in the same way, by asking your friends to send them to you for free or by purchasing them for a single Farm Cash each. When you finish this first stage of the Animal Mastery Billboard, you'll be able to store only a small amount of individual signs. You can then expand the billboard to hold more signs by collecting more and more building materials for each level.

As of this writing, it looks like we'll be able to build additional Animal Mastery Billboards after we construct this first one, if the total storage allowed in the final upgraded product still won't hold all of your signs. Of course, this then leaves us to expect a Tree Mastery Billboard to launch within the coming weeks, so you'll want to work on these Animal Mastery Billboards quickly, so as to not become overwhelmed if and when the Tree Mastery Billboard does finally launch.

FarmVille: Earn 3 free Farm Cash in new promotions

Two new promotions have shown up in FarmVille this morning, offering players a chance to win three Farm Cash (in total) by completing them both. The first is one dealing with Valentine's Day, as FarmVille has one again partnered with ProFlowers. All you have to do is click on the "Awesome" button on the in-game pop-up that should appear the next time you login to your game, and you'll see a new window appear above your farm.

You'll be taken though a step by step process, where you can choose the color and variety of flowers you'd like to send, and then the vase itself. Of course, you don't have to actually send the flowers, and just creating them gives you two free Farm Cash. If you do decide to make a purchase at ProFlowers this Valentine's Day, you'll earn 75 more Farm Cash for free.

The other promotion is a standard offering that appears at the bottom of your gameplay area. Underneath your farm, you should find a link to complete a TurboTax promotion. If you decide to complete this one, you'll see a commercial for TurboTax, and will need to answer a few simple quiz questions to earn a single free Farm Cash. If you complete this promotion and then decide to file your taxes with Turbo Tax, you'll receive 30 more Farm Cash for free.

In both cases, you might need to refresh your game after completing these promotions, in order to "force" your Farm Cash total to update to the correct amount. Sure, three Farm Cash won't be enough to buy you many things within the store, but if you save up your Farm Cash for some time, you just might have enough for a new tree, animal or decoration, all courtesy of Zynga.

FarmVille: Save the Children in time for Valentine's Day

While charity may not be the first thing you think of in association with the Valentine's Day holiday, Zynga has launched a new campaign in FarmVille with Save the Children. This event deals with giving "the gift of reading" to kids this Valentine's Day, and you can donate at one of three levels to receive a permit for a different crop.

For just $3, you'll receive a 7-day permit to plant Red Roses. When planted you'll gain 4 XP per square, and can harvest them for 220 coins after 16 hours. The crop can, of course, be mastered so if you're a fan of mastery signs keep this one in mind.

At the $10 level, you'll earn a 14-day permit to plant Valentine Cards. Each square planted is worth 4 XP and can be harvested after 16 hours for 210 coins per square.

Finally, if you donate $20 in one transaction, you'll receive a 14-day permit to plant Heart Candy. This crop is worth 3 XP per square planted, and can be harvested after 12 hours. You'll receive 200 coins per square harvested.

Unlike previous charity events in FarmVille, this one will only see 70% of the purchase price being donated directly to Save the Children, while the other 30% will go to Facebook (since Facebook apparently declined to waive its cut of each transaction).

The Red Rose crop will be available for the next 18 days, while the other two permits can be purchased for the next 25 days each. If you're a mastery sign collector, you'll need to purchase each crop individually, making your donation even larger, but remember that you're making the lives of kids better in the process. That's worth a few Farm Cash, right?

FarmVille: Storage Capacity raised to 1,250 items

In a rather silent update, Zynga has increased the amount of storage spaces allowed in a single Storage Cellar in FarmVille, from 1,000 spaces to 1,250 spaces. As of right now, this seems to be the new cap across all farms, not just your Home Farm, so if you have a storage cellar on all four of your farms, you can now store a maximum of 5,000 items in your game (of course, currently, there's no way to transfer items between Winter Wonderland and the other three farms, so keep that in mind before assigning something to your winter farm).

Also, before you can take advantage of this higher storage capacity, you'll need to collect shovels and unlock each additional space yourself, in each of your four storage units. Luckily, if you had already poured more shovels than allowed into a single storage cellar (that is, perhaps you added 20 shovels to your Home Farm's storage cellar when you already had 1,000 storage slots available), you'll automatically see your total rise by 40 slots, to account for those 20 extra shovels you had already used. Ultimately, you'll just need to go inside your storage on each farm to see how many spaces you've currently unlocked there, and will be able to ask for more shovels from your friends by clicking on the "Ask for Shovels" button inside the cellar.

We'll make sure to let you know when storage transfer licenses launch in Winter Wonderland, making this whole deal complete. Keep checking back with us.

FarmVille: Best Buy Christmas Plushies now on clearance

Back in November and December, FarmVille players had the chance to purchase real world FarmVille stuffed animal ornaments from Best Buy, and receive virtual versions of those animals back in their farms. If you never purchased any of those animals, but are now interested in doing so, you can pick them up on clearance either online or even at your local Best Buy stores (if your own store still has any in stock).

The online price has been slashed from $9.99 per animal to $2.99 per animal. If you happen to find some in your local brick and mortar Best Buy, they look to be priced $0.99 across the board. Remember, for that price, you'll receive the actual stuffed animal, 10 Farm Cash, and a Mystery Game Dart. If you happen to redeem your codes during an in-game Farm Cash promotional period, you'll have a chance at receiving extra Farm Cash or items respectively. Needless to say, if you pick up some animals for a buck each, you're getting a ton of items for your purchase price.

To be especially clear, there's no guarantee that your own store will still have any of these plush animals in stock (even if Best Buy's website says that it does), but it's worth at least calling to find out, don't you think? Good luck completing your collection!

FarmVille Valentine's Day Trees: Heart Balloon and Smoke Trees now available

The latest FarmVille item update came without trees, which is odd, to say the least (after all, trees are clearly a huge money-maker for Zynga). Now that a few days have passed, four new trees have launched in the store in an update all their own, filling in that gap, and also allowing you to further decorate your farms for the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday.

The four trees come in two pairs. First, the Heart Balloon Tree and Giant Heart Balloon Tree are basically duplicates of the various other balloon trees that have been launched in the game over the years, except their balloons are in the shapes of hearts, rather than being simply rounded. They are priced at 6 and 14 Farm Cash each, respectively.

The other two trees are much more unique, and are modeled after real-world trees. The White Smoke Tree costs 8 Farm Cash, while the Pink Smoke Tree costs 14 Farm Cash. Like the Giant Heart Balloon Tree above, you don't have to purchase the Pink Smoke Tree, even if you'd like one or more in your collection, as they can be earned for free by simply growing Mystery Seedlings in your game. Of course, to help yourself out in that endeavor, it never hurts to have more than one White Smoke Tree sitting around in orchards on your farms.

Either way, both of these pairs of trees will be available in the game for the next 12 days, giving you enough time to place them on your farms and truly enjoy them before the Valentine's Day holiday comes and goes for another year. I'm fairly sure more themed trees will be launched in the store between now and then, and you can be sure we'll bring you their details as well, as soon as we know more.

FarmVille Mystery Game (01/29/12): Valentine's Day animals share the love

Another round of the FarmVille Mystery Game has launched this evening, with the game receiving a love-filled Valentine's Day animal theme. There are seven animals available to win in all (if you include the bonus free prize), and it costs 20 Farm Cash to play per dart, if you don't have any extra darts on hand to throw at the board for free.

This week, you'll have a chance at the following:

Pink Peacock
Pink Pegacorn
Pink Poodle
Pink Skunk
Rose Pony
Valentine Giraffe

If you can win at least one of each of these six animals, you'll walk away with the bonus prize: a Pink Parrot. This particular animal sits on a perch, for the record, rather than sitting on the ground like traditional animals. Just keep in mind that you'll be able to win duplicates in the process, making this more expensive.

There doesn't appear to be a free dart available just yet this week (as seems to have been the case over the past few weeks), but I wouldn't rule it out just yet. Just keep checking on your farms and you'll see if, if were are actually given one. Either way, these items will expire from the Mystery Game after a week, so make sure to play before they expire for your chance at the ones you want.

FarmVille: Lighthouse Cove Storage Licenses aren't cheap

Do you remember those Zynga customer service agents that told players that Storage Transfer would be coming to FarmVille's Lighthouse Cove for 25 Farm Cash? Well, it turns out they were wrong, as the Lighthouse Cove Shipping License has now officially been added to the game for 75 Farm Cash - quite a jump from 25, wouldn't you say?

Now, before you start panicking, I do have some good news here. If you're not willing to purchase the shipping license for any amount of Farm Cash, a "free" option will eventually be released. The in-game store tells us: "Coming Soon: Free License at Cove Level 10," but that doesn't really help matters. What if you've already completed upgraded your Lighthouse Cove? Well, that's apparently not good enough just yet, as even doing so does nothing to unlock this storage transfer.

For now, we're left either paying 75 Farm Cash for the License (that's well over $10 worth of Farm Cash), or waiting until Zynga eventually gets around to releasing the free version. When looking inside your existing Storage Cellars, you'll see a button allowing you to purchase "Shipping Licenses," and there we're also told that a Winter Wonderland option will be coming soon. Whether or not both of these free options (assuming Winter Wonderland also has a free License available) will release before all of the snow can melt away in Winter Wonderland (figuratively of course) is anyone's guess.
