FarmVille 2 Mud Wallow: Everything you need to know

As FarmVille 2's current focus is on "Mud" and all of the things players can do or make with it, it's not surprising that we'd see yet another building item released that deals with the dirty stuff. The new Mud Wallow is available to build for free, and we're here with a guide on doing just that, with help from Zynga. Let's get started!

The Mud Wallow base can be built using 10 Faucet Pipings, 10 Red Balls, and 10 Pig Fence Posts. These items are earned through a combination of general requests posted on your news feed and individual requests sent directly to your neighbors. When that task is done, you'll be able to finish the Mud Wallow by asking four friends to come work on the frame.

After you've finished the whole Mud Wallow, you'll need at least four Adult Pigs (not Prized Pigs) on your farm for it to function. When you feed your Pigs, they'll still automatically drop Mug, but they'll also drop a new type of Mud that is only used for this feature. Similar to how you collect Milk Droplets from Goats and Cows, this Mud will fill the Mud Wallow Meter. Once it's full, you can harvest the Wallow for Clay.

As you collect from the Mud Wallow, you'll have a chance of randomly earning a special Antique Coin. There are three different Antique Coins to collect in all, ranging in rarity from Common to Rare, but you'll need to collect multiples of each to actually finish the collection. When you collect all of them (again, they drop at random), you'll receive a Spotted Pig for your farm for free.

Obviously, the more Pigs you have on your farm, the quicker you'll be able to harvest the Mud Wallow, and the quicker you'll unlock those new Spotted Pigs. Good luck!

  • Make 3 Olive Oil

FarmVille 2 French Farm Country Kitchen Recipes: Everything you need to know

Along with the new French Farm Country items that are now available in the FarmVille 2 marketplace, a huge new set of crafting recipes has been released in the game's Crafting Kitchen. These recipes use the theme's new trees and crop, and we're here with a complete guide to creating each of these in your own game. Let's get started!

The first recipe is the Black Cherry Savarin Cake, which can be created using four Black Cherries and two Cake Flour. The Black Cherries are earned by tending the Black Cherry Tree. This tree is available for 14 Farm Bucks in the store, and it can be tended every eight hours. As for the Cake Flour, this is another one of the five new recipes, which we'll get into later. The Black Cherry Savarin Cakes can be sold for 1,720 coins each, and you'll receive 12 XP for each one you create.
Cake Flour requires two Corn Starch and four Wheat to create. The Corn Starch is earned by sending out individual requests to your friends for help. A single Cake Flour can be sold for 600 coins, and you'll receive 4 XP for each you create.
The third recipe is a Black Cherry Clafoutis Pie, which gives you 11 XP per batch created. This one is created using four Black Cherries and two Batter. Batter comes from Wheat and Flour, so make sure you have lots of Wheat on hand at all times to create the many recipes that require Batter. When you create these Pies, you can sell them for 1,110 coins each.

Moving on, the next recipe is the Pignon Croissant, which requires two Cake Flour and two Pine Nuts to create. The Pine Nuts are collected from the Umbrella Pine Tree, which can be purchased in the store for 12 Farm Bucks. A single Umbrella Pine Tree is available to harvest once every eight hours. Creating one of these Croissants gives you 11 XP, and you can sell each one for 1,490 coins.
The next recipe is one that all players will be able to create, even if they don't want to spend Farm Bucks. Instead, this Rapaseed Oil requires coin crops to create. You'll need just four Rapaseed (2 +2) to create a Rapaseed Oil, and you'll receive 3 XP in the process of completing each one. You'll be able to sell Rapaseed Oils for 250 coins each, if you don't wish to use them in a later recipe.
Finally, the sixth recipe in this set is the Crepe Cake, which can be created using one Cake Flour and one Rapaseed Oil per batch. Each one rewards you with 8 XP when you create them, and you can sell a single Crepe Cake for 910 coins.
All of the items in this French Farm Country theme will be available for the next 20 days, while these recipes will be around for 27. If you're interested in stocking up on Rapaseeds to create these Oils or Crepes, make sure to place as many as you can, as quickly as you can, to have the chance to earn the most coins.

FarmVille 2: Expand into Playground Park, now for coins

When FarmVille 2 first launched on Facebook, it contained quite a few land expansions that were only available to unlock "early" for Farm Bucks. We assumed that these land expansions would roll out quickly after the game launched, but we've actually had to wait quite a while for them to be unleashed on eager farmers everywhere.

One of these land expansions is now available to purchase, as "Playground Park" can be unlocked with coins, but only if you're a high enough level. Playground Park is the land expansion in the top left corner of the game's screen, and it contains a tire swing as you can see above. If you're level 34 or higher, you can now complete a series of three tasks in order to unlock the land expansion for coins.

Reach Level 34
Gather 20 Land Permits
Have 2 Million Coins

As you might expect, the Land Permits are earned by asking your friends to send them to you, while the coins are earned mostly by selling items like grown crops or crafting items. You'll also earn a few by completing quests, but you shouldn't rely on those as your big money maker.

If you're a big Farm Bucks spender, you can still unlock this land expansion for Farm Bucks by simply purchasing a check mark for each of these tasks. That's an incredibly expensive endeavor, however, as the 2 million coin task alone will cost you up to around 600 Farm Bucks. Whatever the case, this is a permanent land expansion on the farm, so don't worry if you're nowhere near level 34, or you still need to collect lots of coins to unlock it. It will still be there when you're ready.

FarmVille 2 Crafting Kiln: Everything you need to know

Now that pigs have become the new hotness in FarmVille 2, Zynga has released a Crafting Kiln to take advantage of their mud-loving ways. You'll use the Crafting Kiln to collect Mud from Pigs, with Mud helping your earn large amounts of XP in the long run. We're here with a guide to building the Crafting Kiln, so let's get started!

You'll need to complete two building stages to finish the Crafting Kiln. The first requires you to collect 10 Pottery Wheel Sections, 10 Bags of Clay Powder, and 10 Cut Stones. The Pottery Wheel Sections can be earned by posting a general request to your news feed, while the other items are earned by sending out individual requests to your neighbors. Once you finish that stage of the Crafting Kiln, you'll need to send out requests to your neighbors to help you actually finish the Kiln itself.

After you've completed the Crafting Kiln, you'll be able to fill it up by collecting Mud from Pigs. This process is similar to that of the Spinning Wheel, that sees you collecting Spinning Wool from Sheep and Rabbits, in that the process happens automatically. You'll be able to craft recipes using Mud inside the Crafting Kiln, with Zynga promising big XP rewards for some of them.

This Crafting Kiln even features a temperature meter that tracks when Crafting Kiln recipes are "on fire." Crafting these "hot" recipes will give you double XP, which should hopefully help you level up even more! We'll bring you a more complete guide to the recipes within the Crafting Kiln as soon as we can, but for now, start working on building yours on your farm as soon as you can!

FarmVille 2 'Spring into Country Living' Kitchen Recipes: Everything you need to know

Along with the new set of Spring into Country Living items that have been released in FarmVille 2's marketplace, a new trio of themed recipes has been released in the game's Crafting Kitchen. These recipes make use of the new trees and crops in this Spring into Country Living theme, and we're here with a guide to each recipe to help you out. Let's get started!

The first recipe is for the Flavorosa Crumble Bar. It requires two Batter and five Flavorosa Pluots to create. The Batter comes from Wheat and Flour, while the Pluots are earned by tending trees of the same name. A single Flavorosa Pluot Tree can be purchased in the store for 12 Farm Bucks, and it can be harvested every eight hours, so long as you always remember to water it.

Remember, if you don't want to purchase one of these trees yourself, but you have friends that do, you can try to tend their trees and earn some of these Pluots for free, but you're not guaranteed to receive any.

Creating a single one of these Crumble Bars gives you 16 XP, and you'll be able to sell them for 3,000 coins each.

The second recipe is for Pluot Lemonade, which requires one Lemonade and 14 of the Flavorosa Pluots to create. Lemonade is made from Water and Lemons, and you'll be able to sell a single batch of this Pluot Lemonade for 3,500 coins. You'll receive 21 XP for creating a single serving.
The final recipe is this trio is Tart Swiss Chard. It requires two Batter and eight Swiss Chard to create. Swiss Chard is thankfully this theme's free crop, so all farmers can create this recipe in their games. Swiss Chard can be planted for 30 coins per square and harvested after an hour. Each Tart Swiss Chard you create is worth 2,000 coins, and you'll receive 15 XP for creating them.
These recipes will all only be available for the next 27 days, while the "Spring Into Country Items" will be available for the next 20 days. Stick with us, as we'll bring you coverage of the game's additional Spring themed items as soon as we can.

FarmVille 2 Mushroom Kitchen Recipes: Everything you need to know

In honor of the launch of the Mushroom Shed in FarmVIlle 2, a series of three new Mushroom filled cooking recipes has been added to the game's Crafting Kitchen. While these recipes may not go along with an item theme in the store, you'll still need to create a few of them if you want to complete all of the Mushroom Shed quests that have been, and will continue to be released over the next few weeks. We're here with a complete look at these new recipes to help you out. Let's get started!

The first recipe is for Clamshell Mushroom Broth. A single batch of the Broth requires three Clamshell Mushrooms and one regular Broth to create. The Clamshell Mushrooms are earned by sending out individual requests to your friends for help, while the Broth can be created with three Water and six Onions per batch. You'll receive 10 XP for each Clamshell Broth you create, and you can sell a single one for 1,540 coins.
The second recipe is for Portobello Mushroom Pie. This one requires four Portobello Mushrooms and one Pie Crust to create. The Portobello Mushrooms are earned through more individual requests sent directly to your neighbors, while the Pie Crust is made using two Flour and one Stick of Butter. You can sell a single Mushroom Pie for 2,100 coins, and you'll receive 16 XP for each one you cook.
Finally, the third recipe is for Chanterelle Mushroom Souffle. This recipe requires three Chanterelle Mushrooms and six Eggs to prepare. Yet again, the Chanterelle Mushrooms are earned by sending out individual requests to your neighbors. When you crate a single Souffle, you'll receive 8 XP, and you can sell each one for 1,360 coins.

These recipes will only be available to cook for the next 24 days, which is the exact same time limit for the overall Mushroom Shed event. We'll continue to bring you guide to finishing the rest of this large Mushroom-themed feature in FarmVille 2, so stay tuned for more!

FarmVille 2: Retired trees return for a limited time

If you're new to FarmVille 2, or you're simply a virtual farmer that's filled with regret after not purchasing a tree in a previous limited edition theme, you might be happy to learn that Zynga has re-released a series of trees from retired item themes to give you a second chance at adding them to your farm. There are only five of these trees currently available in the store, and they'll only be available for another short limited time, but we're here with a look at these trees either way.

Blood Orange Tree (Bewitching Bounty Items) - 12 Farm Bucks
Pinon Tree (Southwestern Spice Items) - 12 Farm Bucks
Yucca Tree (Southwestern Spice Items) - 12 Farm Bucks
Crabapple Tree (Fall Harvest Items) - 12 Farm Bucks
Sugar Maple Tree (Fall Harvest Items) - 12 Farm Bucks

As you can see, these trees take us back in time quite a bit, all of the way to October of last year. It's always possible that additional retired trees could be re-released in the future as well, depending on how successful these are with farmers. For now though, these five trees will only be available in the store for another four days. If you want them, make sure to purchase them sooner, rather than later, before your second chance goes away!

FarmVille 2 Lonely Yorkshire Pig: Everything you need to know

It's been a while since we've been greeted with a tiny, shy animal in FarmVille 2 that we have to work to lure into the farm, but now we've been given that opportunity once again. In keeping with the game's recent launch of pigs and the Mushroom Shed, a not-so-tiny Yorkshire Piglet has appeared on our farms. We'll have the next 11 days to complete a series of tasks to unlock the Piglet as a permanent addition to our farms, and we're here with a guide to help you do just that!

Yorkshire Pig Quest:
  • Fix Marie's Wheelbarrow
  • Collect 3 Pig Treats
  • Craft 8 Apple Scones

The Wheelbarrow comes into play as soon as this event begins. Marie is visiting your farm with the wheelbarrow, but it breaks as soon as she arrives. You'll be able to fix it by collect 10 Wheel Axes, 10 Lug Nuts, and 10 Wood Planks. After that, it looks like you'll need to ask four friends to help you finish off the item before Marie can take it back.

As for the Pig Treats, these are earned by completing some of the eight new pig quests that have launched on our farm. The first sees you harvesting Blueberries, feeding Sheep, and crafting some basic items, so you should have no real problem earning the three Pig Treats within the 11 days we have available.
Finally, the Apple Scones are created with six Apples and one Batter each. Batter, of course, comes from Flour and Wheat, so make sure you grow Wheat as often as possible to have constant access to Batter on your farm.

After you've completed these three lengthy tasks, you'll earn the right to call the Yorkshire Pig your very own. Just remember, he'll leave your farm if you can't complete them, and it's unknown whether you'll ever have a chance at him again if you can't lure him in now. Good luck!

Our look at the Spring is Here item theme in FarmVille 2 isn't over just yet, as a series of three new Crafting Workshop recipes have been released for production for a limited time. This trio of recipes will give you something to do with the theme's new crop - the Easter Lily - and we're here with a complete guide to helping you get started. Let's go!

The first recipe is the Spring Bouquet, which requires four Flasks and 14 Easter Lilies to create. The Easter Lilies can be planted for 30 coins per square and harvested after two hours. Meanwhile, the Flasks are earned by sending out individual requests to your neighbors to help you out. You'll receive 17 XP for each Spring Bouquet you create, and they can be sold for 2,290 coins each.
The second recipe is the Spring Wreath, which can be created using eight Eggs and 12 Easter Lilies. This particular recipe can be sold for 1,930 coins in the market, and you'll receive 13 XP for each one that you craft.
Finally, the third Spring is Here recipe is the Stuffed Toy Bunny, which is created using one Wool Thread Spindle and one Wool Bolt. Each Stuffed Toy Bunny can be sold for 1,920 coins, and you'll receive 15 XP for crafting a single one.
These recipes will only be available for crafting for the next 19 days, so make sure to use your Easter Lilies on them before these recipes expire and make the Lilies less valuable.

FarmVille 2 'Luck of the Irish' Kitchen Recipes: Everything you need to know

As the Luck of the Irish event continues to expand in FarmVille 2, we've seen a series of three new recipes released in the game's Crafting Kitchen. These recipes can be created using the theme's crops and trees, and we're here with a complete guide to help you get prepared. Let's get started!

The first recipe is White Clover Tea, which requires two Lemon Water and 12 White Clover to create. The White Clover costs 40 coins to plant and takes two hours to grow, while Lemon Water is created by simply combining Lemons and Water. Each White Clover Tea can be sold for 2,050 coins, and you'll receive 14 XP for each one you create.
The second recipe is Irish Strawberry Shortcake, which requires two Batter and 12 Irish Strawberries to create. Batter is made using Wheat, Flour, and Eggs, while Irish Strawberries are earned from the Irish Strawberry Tree. A single one of these premium trees costs 12 Farm Bucks and takes eight hours to harvest. You'll earn 24 XP when you create a single Irish Strawberry Shortcake, and each one can be sold for 3,700 coins in the Farmer's Market.
The third and final recipe in this trio is the Blackthorn Jam, which requires five Sugar and 14 Blackthorn Fruit to create. Sugar is earned by asking your friends to send it to you, while Blackthorn Fruit is earned from the Blackthorn Tree. Blackthorn Trees can be purchased in the store for 12 Farm Bucks each, and then harvested every 16 hours. Remember, when it comes to these premium trees, you can either purchase these trees yourself, or you can tend your friends' trees for a chance of receiving them for free. Whatever your choice, if you manage to craft some Blackthorn Jam, you can sell it for 3,040 coins per batch, and you'll receive 17 XP for each.
All of these recipes will be available for the next 23 days, while the Luck of the Irish items will be available for the next 16 days.

FarmVille 2 Mushroom Shed: Everything you need to know

Something has long been missing from the barnyard in FarmVille 2, but now, that void is being filled in as pigs have finally been spotted in the game! These Pigs are introduced by Gus, who brings a Mushroom Shed to your farm! This Pig feature is set to be a huge one, as it's going to be released in four different stages. The first stage sees you building the Mushroom Shed (or Shroom Shed, as it's also called), and we're here with a guide to help you do that, thanks to Zynga. Let's get started!

The Mushroom Shed requires 30 building materials to build. You'll need to collect 10 Spore Bags, 10 Natural Stones, and 10 Shovels to finish it. These items are earned through a combination of general news items posted to your wall and individual requests sent to your neighbors. Once you've collected these parts, you'll need to ask four friends to be staff within the building to actually finish it off.

Once you've completed the Mushroom Shed, you'll find that it's very similar to the Christmas Tree event, in that it comes with four sets of quests that can be completed over time. A new set of four quests will be released each week, with only the first week of quests (so, four quests in total) being available right now.

As you finish each set of four quests, you'll receive a special prize specific to that particular set. If you can finish all four sets of quests, or 16 quests in total, you'll receive the special Wild Pig for your farm. Watch out though - this Pig and the overall event will only be active for completion for the next 35 days. Good luck!
